Do it yourself Spring nail art trends

September 1, 2014

Nail art was a huge trend on the runway this Spring especially the half moon mani. At FoxBox we aim to keep you on trend and this month we have created an easy step by step guide to painting this seasons hottest trend yourself!

If you are going to use bright colours add a base coat to your manicured nails.

Paint two coats of your polish colour choice that you want for the half moon on your mani. You need to wait for your polish to be COMPLETELY DRY! If you don’t when you use the stickers to create the effect the polish will peel off and smudge.

To make the half moon use hole reinforcements which can be found at CNA. Take the sticker and place it at the bottom of the nail and make sure that they are secure on both sides. Do this on all your nails.

Take your polish colour that you want for the rest of the nail and apply two coats. Make sure to be careful that you don’t apply too much polish to the sticker as you don’t want the polish to bleed under the sticker.

Be sure to let the polish dry before peeling off the sticker and adding your top coat.

You will see there is a little sticker residue that is left on the nail but once you add your top coat it will disappear.

We would love to see your half moon mani, so upload a picture of your half moon mani to Twitter or Facebook and tag the FoxBox team. The best halfmoon mani will win a manicure at one of our pop up mobile nail bars at Woolworths in Cape Town!

We will choose a winner at the end of September, so get painting!!

Keeping you polished,
The FoxBox Team
